Tuesday evening, sa mall:
I was roaming around the new wing of Ayala looking for the Mossimo shop while waiting for Igat J for our dinner later that night.
Correction: I was roaming around 'lost' for forty minutes already. Forty minutes spent just looking for that shop.
I vaguely remembered that the shop was definitely on the lower ground floor of the new wing. Nasira kase yung pang office bag ko and MG recommended good black sturdy ones daw in Mossimo.
Now, if I could just find that damn shop! Ma-pride chicken kase, hindi nagtatanong sa concierge!
So there I was still searching when two fairly good looking Adonises, who seemed to be students, approached me. Napakagat-labi ako at kinabahan.
'Ooh, grasya sa langit! Hallelujah!' I smiled to myself, amused.
One of them, medyo matangkad, mga 5'7", medium-built, chinito, lumapit na saken. "Hi, good evening," sabi niya.
He had nice teeth.
Ngumiti siya, "I'm a student of the University of San Carlos Talamban Campus. I was just wondering..."
At that point, I was full expecting he was going to ask for my number. But he raised his palm in front of me, tapos, tinanong niya ako, "Will it be okay for you if you could give me a high-five?"
'A what? Ano raw?' I thought to myself. 'Gago 'tong mokong na 'to ha! Is this a prank?'
I don't know what came over me at that moment, but for the life of me, parang bumaba ng slight yung EQ points ko at bigla na lang ako nag high-five! Yep, I gave that dude a freakin' high-five!
And both of them just merrily went on with their way after that.
And I was left dumbstruck in silence at what just occurred. I was anticipating naman a follow up act or conversation or maybe a bevy of cameras expecting I was some part of a gag show or something. Well, exaggerated na siguro yung last bit.
So I just attributed it na lang to maybe it was just for a fraternity initiation rite or maybe it was just a social experiment or it was simply two guys pranking hapless angatch me.
Still, I was hoping he'd give me his number though. Awwwpp...
Anyhow, nakita ko na rin yung lecheng Mossimo shop na yun. Angatch episode 2 for that night: nasa itaas pa pala na floor! I had been looking for it on the wrong floor! Hay naku! Pak!
